Hello, so today is a good day. Oncotype score is 19, so benefits of chemotherapy are limited. So it’s radiotherapy and tamoxifen, which I know will bring their own challenge but I’m thankful not to have to endure chemotherapy. My hair dresser has just phoned planning their reopening and I wondered if anyone has advice on whether it’s ok to have my hair dyed during the period of radiotherapy and recovery.
I gather from things I've read that it's ok to have your hair dyed during breast radiotherapy as you're not having radiotherapy to your head.
"Can I dye my hair?
Generally, yes. Hair that is not being treated directly with radiation can be dyed. But if you’re having radiation to the head and neck area and experience hair loss, it’s best to wait a few months after your hair has grown back."
Hope this helps and good luck with your radio.
Lesley
