Torrid Time in February

I started chemo on 28th December and all was going well until end January when I picked up an infection and ended up in A&E with a temperature of 38.2.  It was a bit of a torrid time during February as I was quite ill and had to have 3 course of antibiotics.  My symptoms had a lot in common with covid but 3 tests came back negative.  Then, the icing on the cake,  my PICC line blocked and it had to be removed and a new one inserted.  I restarted treatment last week after a month so it is like starting all over again but, so far I am feeling well.  I cannot praise highly enough the treatment I have received from Worcestershire Hospitals.  I am getting my covid vaccination on Sunday and I can't wait.

  • That sounds horrid. Could it possibly have been a PICC lune infection? As I know central lines can carry a possibility of that.....

hope you continue without any further problems....

They didn't say it was a PICC line infection but it was bent over at the end and slightly discoloured.

  • So glad your feeling better and having treatment again, got my COVID jab last Wednesday, been ok, just a bit of a headache and sore arm on Thursday evening, been ok since then x
