Hi, just wondering if anyone has any recent experience of making a critical illness claim when diagnosed with high grade DCIS - was the claim paid out ? I am reading conflicting information and it appears to differ between insurance companies as to who will and who won’t, most saying if it’s not invasive they won’t settle the claim - Any advice much appreciated - many thanks
Hi Rakehill
I can't answer your question, I'm afraid. Partly I'm bumping up your post, but also you could try giving the support line a call - 0808 808 0000 8am - 8pm Not sure if they'd be able to help, but they do have financial and legal teams so might be able to answer your questions

I recently had a claim paid but I have stage 3 HER2 negative breast cancer which will require mastectomy/reconstruction.
I think you’ll just have to put your evidence into the insurance company and await their response?
my consultant was very helpful and filled out the required paperwork.
good luck with your claim x
Thankyou Pineapple, I will update with the outcome ( good or bad) x
I have been onto my insurance company 3 times and they haven’t been very helpful. I feel as if I’m going round in circles, which is adding to stress of all this. You pay your premiums hoping never to use it hoping when you have to call they will be helpful
Hi - can’t really help as mine was invasive so the policy paid out. However before claiming I did read the policy document and it did say in situ wasn’t covered ( this was Aviva) but your provider may be different
the only thing to do would be claim and see what they say. Aviva had a dedicated team who were very helpful and filled out the form for me, going through it on the phone and then sending it out for checking and signing
