Well today I've been told I have breast cancer. A complete shock as I am sure it is to everyone. Wil need chemo as the lump is too big for lumpectomy. It is also in the lymph node. But am trying to be positive but it seems very surreal at the moment
Hi SOK, I am so sorry about your diagnosis. Yes it comes as a shock to us all.
I received mine 18th December which made for a great Christmas on top of lockdown. You will find lots of lovely ladies on here who are at different stages of their treatment as well as ladies who have been cancer free for some years.
These days breast cancer is very treatable with high success rates so try to bear that in mind if you start to worry.
I didn't need chemo first but I've read some of the bios of ladies on here who did and the chemo did shrink their tumours. I had my lumpectomy Jan 16th.
There is a January Breast Cancer Chemo thread you might want to look at and post on especially if your chemo is starting in January. Come February I think there will be a February one and so on and so forth.
You might also want to look at the AWAKE thread which is in breast cancer under CHAT. There you will find lots of us at different stages of treatment and some who are cancer free hating about anything we feel like, seeking support or advice or having a good old moan.
I'm sure others will see this post and respond but do feel free to message me if you want to.
Hope you are doing ok.
Sending hugs xx
Thank you I will take a look as you suggest.
