Hi all.
Had lumpectomy and snb last june.
High onco score of 43 so had chemo. Managed 3 fec and 1 dox but bad side effects so they stopped i done 4/6.
5 rads sessions to whole breast and 4 booster .
Finished active treatment end of november.
Been on anastrozole but had a very sore back, consultant said last week she wanted a bone scan for reassurance. Original lump was 2cm no nodes involved.
Had the scan on monday but nurse said last week she wanted me to stop anastrozole for 2 weeks as she thought that may be the issue ... Yep pains almost gone after a week. She said i can start another tablet.
However yesterday i had pains off and on in my breast. Not nerve healing pain but it felt like someone was pouring acid deep inside ! It would. Last a. Few seconds then go , but was soo painful.
Before diagnosis i suffered from hidradenitis suppurativa and i had abcesses one was in breast , similar sort of pain but although im sore theres no pain or redness.only had pain once this morning ?
Hi
Sorry to hear about all the side effects you're having and hope they get sorted for you soon.
I think it's definitely worth calling your breast clinic to discuss it - you haven't long finished treatment so it would put your mind at rest. It sounds like your team are very attentive so should be happy to chat with you about it.

Hi , sorry you’re having this pain, I’d definitely contact the clinic to get it checked . It sounds similar to pain I had many years ago when my son was 9 months old. It happened on one side only, straight after breastfeeding, and it felt like someone was tearing my breast off - deep pain within the breast. I was treated by GP with antibiotics in case it was an infection but she referred me to the breast clinic as well. They diagnosed duct ectasia (I think) - inflammation of the duct. I was advised to stop breast feeding, which I did on that side but continued on the other. The pain stopped immediately and I’ve never had it again. I wonder if yours could be inflammation, possibly from the radiotherapy?
Hope you can get some answers, Love and hugs, HFxx
