I started tamoxifen on 22 November and the last week I suddenly started having severe indigestion and nausea. I suffer from acid reflux which came back after my diagnosis in October but I had it under control with omeprazole and gaviscon. But this new indigestion and nausea is something else. Is it temporary? Will it go away? I am on wockhardt at the moment. Is there a brand more friendly to the stomach? Thank you .
Hi Kon74 and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you're suffering from severe indigestion and nausea which must be very unpleasant. I can't help with your question but I noticed you hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen.
If you don't get any replies you could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I do hope you can get this sorted soon.

Hi Kon74
Another warm welcome to the community from me and sorry that it has taken so long for you to get a reply. As latchbrook mentioned, your post had slipped down the list and off the first page which means fewer people saw it. This is a very large and quite fast moving group and unfortunately some things get lost that way. We are very friendly, though and always keen to help when we can.
I've been on Tamoxifen a few years and I've never had any indigestion problems but I do find that some brands are better than others. The funny thing is that some of the brands that are great for me are terrible for other people on here so it does seem to be a bit of trial and error. Feeling sick is one of the listed side effects - link to Macmillan information here - but the information suggests it should go away in a few weeks. There isn't any information on acid reflux, though.
It might be worth giving your GP a call if the prescribing has been handed over to them, or your breast clinic. They might be able to prescribe something to help while it settles down.
Sorry that you are having this problem - the last thing you need.
Hopefully someone will come along soon who has some personal experience of this to be a bit more help
