Since diagnosis of early stage BC i have had the lumpectomy and FF radiotherapy and started on tamoxifen, all doing good, I then had an ultrasound and found a 7cm dermoid cyst on my ovary. I was recommended to have the ovary removed, whilst I was under GA I could get the other one taken out as well . This meaning I would go straight into menopause. I was told I would then need to switch from Tamoxifen to Letrazole which I'm not keen to do as I'm happy with how I feel on these drugs, still fit and active, running 3/4 days a week. Has anyone had the same treatment, I don't think I'm ready to enter menopause after BC lumpectomy - my brain will explode !!! Thanks all and hope you are well doing ok.
Thank you for letting me know I'm not the only one out there. MRI scheduled for 15/9/20 and I'm almost sure I'm going to have just the cyst and ovary removed leaving one in situ. I can then stay on tamoxifen and go into menopause semi naturally, nothing is natural when taking breast cancer drugs !!! Its all a non stop hospital merry go round. Kind regards
