Hi
Sounds like a kids story...are you sitting comfortably?
So I had a "seroma" after both surgeries (mx Feb 2020 and then node clearance, March 2020) which wasn't going anywhere. Surgeon tried aspirating couple of weeks ago but no joy so had an ultrasound yesterday to discover very little fluid in there and what's causing the lump (like a b cup under arm where side of bra strap sits) is a redistribution of fat!
I did ask the radiologist where was now thin as a result but she was not on the same fun-bus as me so just stared blankly (am quite used to this).
Anyone else had this after surgery, what (if anything) did you do? The (no sense of humour) radiologist suggested carrying on massaging but sounds like a waste of time...which is why we don't get thin by having a weekly massage! I'm thinking the only solution maybe getting it liposucked when I have my reconstruction? I don't think its causing pain per se but is adding to the general discomfort I still get around armpit so can live with it if need be...and not a big issue given what others are going through of course.
Any thoughts/experiences?

Iv just been through left mastectomy and lymph node clearance a week ago and grown a b cup back along my full wound and under my arm but was told they want to leave it to re absorb . I feel like I’m being kept in the dark as to how this works , how long it takes , how big should it get !!!
It is sooo bl00dy annoying that the support teams can't be clearer as to what to expect, I get they need to be vague to an extent as peoples side effects are different but more info would be useful wouldn't it? If it helps I also had a real seroma as had a lumpectomy in remaining boob too and massaged it, it only went after about 4 months so you do need to be patient. I don't think that they should get any bigger than they were originally and would suggest that if its not clearing off or getting larger then you need to challenge your BCN - that's the only way I managed to get an ultrasound.
They prefer to leave them alone as you could get infection (and therefore lymphodema which we are more at risk of following ANC) through syringing but after 5 months I'd decided enough was enough.
Hope yours get sorted.
Sam
Cheers
Not sure if lateral dog ears is better than redistribution of fat for a name but always wanted a dog so am on the way to getting one now....ha!
