Hi everyone I'm new on here.
Just waiting for my biopsy results.
I have a small mark under my nipple, not sure how long I've had it. Had antibiotics as my GP thought it could of been an infection. Has anyone had a mark which looked like an insect bite or a small bruise.
The waiting is mentally killing me. I have no support. I haven't told my teenager kids yet.
Not sure what happens next after the results....
Thanks for listening.

........Hello, welcome.
Sorry you find yourself on this site but you have found the right place to share your feelings while you are waiting for more information.
I'm afraid the waiting is always a difficult time. Almost everyone who posts here can remember the uncertainty of the waiting time.At least once the results from the biopsie are back you will know what you are dealing with. Hopefully it will be something benign. Only yesterday, someone who had actually been told by her doctor it would be cancer, had the good news that the problem was negative.
So lets keep everything crossed at the moment that your results too come back negative. You ask what happens next ....and actually that's best left to discuss until you know exactly what you are dealing with. If it should be cancer....there are so many variables regarding treatments these days that it needs the analysis before anyone can plan for you. But you can be sure that there will always be someone on this site who can answer your post whether it be a question or emotions. On this thread you can rant, cry, laugh ( we do you know. Take a look at the Awake group if you need cheering up!) ask serious questions.....there will always be someone who can empathise and support you. You don't need to feel alone anymore, especially now while you have this very difficult wait.
Remember too that in the worst case scenario ....that the biopsy result is positive .....breast cancer is very treatable these days. The treatments may not be pleasant but they are often sucessful. I had my own cancer in 2015 and have been free of it since surgery. Once you know what is happening , you will feel more in control.
Keep in touch. Don't sit by yourself worrying as you wait, keep chatting here( I'm not saying ' don't worry' because that isn't realistic and I don't think anyone gets through this wait without some fear.)...and hopefully you will hear very soon so that things can be moved on. My instinct is that it is only a few more days so perhaps leave telling teenagers until you have something definite to say.
Take care. Stay safe from the Covid19.
Love Karen
Morning
and a warm welcome from us as well.... Have to agree with everything Karen has mentioned, everyone finds the waiting results period an emotional nightmare. All the 'what if's' come out to play and messes with your head big time :-/
A mark resembling an insect bite or infection is oddly enough a symptom of Inflammatory BC which is a bit of a weird type of breast cancer regarding symptoms and almost everyone gets the 'Lets try a course of anti-biotics' first course of action. It is great your GP has referred you fairly soon rather than wasting more time trying all sorts of anti-bios and creams.
There are many benign breast conditions this could be - hopefully yours will fall into that category. However if your fears are confirmed you can expect everything to follow on at quite a pace which can be very unsettling as your calendar slots fill up with appointment times. Seeing you asked what happens after the results: Not to worry your further but if this is Inflammatory BC it is nearly always treated with chemotherapy prior to surgery termed neoadjuvant.
Does this seem to have got any worse over the last few weeks or stayed around the same as there are other symptoms - Early IBC symptoms may include persistent itching and the appearance of a rash or small irritation similar to an insect bite. The breast typically becomes red, swollen, and warm. The skin may appear pitted like an orange peel, and nipple changes such as inversion, flattening, or dimpling may occur.
Have you been given a date for your results ? They usually come through 7 - 10 days post biopsy. Although they may have sussed something is up ? it is pointless telling your teens yet as they will ask questions you cannot answer and you may all be worrying unnecessarily.
We would love nothing better than you to find this is nothing too serious but if the results mean you are here for the long haul we will all help support and reassure you that this is do'able.
Fingers tightly crossed, take care, G n' J
