MRI was negative for any other suspicious micro calcemia areas in breast with cancer (L) or other breast which was great to hear. Did get a second opinion at Rochester breast clinic to review path, mammo, and MRI and she felt I should go with the lumpectomy in order to get more information r/t my tumor. I am still struggling with staying with lumpectomy and eventually having the L breast removed, as so much information documenting this DCIS and eventually being invasive brst cancer. Scheduled for a lumpectomy but will talk with oncologist before the scheduled surgery on the 25th. Will let you know what path says. Shirley
I had the lumpectomy on 6/25 with preliminary sentinel node report was negative. Should get path report back by meeting with oncology next week. Hoping the HER2 is negative. Doctors feel that it will be radiology and receptor pills for 5-10 years, if that is what is in path report but when I read the side effects of Arimidex I can't help but be concerned. Would be nice to hear from any of your women out there that have been on this med and how it is going for you. Many thanks, Shirley N.
I dont know if this helps I have never heard of that drug Shirley but I'm her2 postive and they give me Herceptin, I have only just started I've only had three injections but so far so good.
Hello Dab
I've had my second herceptin injection and it hurt my thigh like hell. I could hardly get up the stairs. Has this happened to you?

Hi Julie / Charlieandlola
Was your 2nd Herceptin injected cold almost straight from the fridge ?
If yes, ask if you can warm the next one in your hands first to take the chill off it.....

Hi Julie,
I have been pretty lucky they try to warm it up first which means it dont hurt so much when it goes in.
Hey
That must be what it is then and they say to me in it's in the fridge. It's quite painful
