I found a lump or swelling near ribs below mastectomy sight. Had mastectomy October 2019. I was not going to mention it to BC nurse because it is not breast tissue it in between breast and waist. But went to BC nurse today for blood test and mentioned it. They said we can feel what you can feel and we will let consultant know and we go from there. Now all the panic has come back. I have an implant with a port which is further up so it not that. Trying to stop my mind overthinking but worried now every time something is wrong with me it will always get checked out which I know is a good thing but how do I stop panicking.
Hi Roses123,
it’s sadly very normal to panic, I’ve done it a few times, there’s only so much you can do to try to take your mind off it as anytime you stop it all comes flooding back. But try you must, for the sake of your sanity and all the folk around you too! You have, of course, done exactly the right thing in getting your BCN to see it. Waiting again of course, as you know too well, is the pits!
if you find the nights are awful, then do join the ‘AWAKE...’ thread as you can find anything from empathy right through to (sometimes) somewhat black humour! And it’s always towards top of the list of threads as folk post there all times of day or night.
Sending you a hug xxx
Moomy
