Hi.
Does anyone taking tamoxifen experience leg cramps mainly at the back of my knee and calfs but in the hamstring a little. Had it for 3 weeks. I was taking ofluxcin antibiotics at the time also for a bacterial infection so I don't know what's going on?

Keep battling out there!
I had leg cramps initially but settled after a long while. But they were excruciating. I just kept stretching out. I have one of those rubber band things from the physio, so i lay on my back and use the band across my foot and pull small and gently to stretch. I've even had to do it in the night it seemed worse then.
Hope that helps 1212 xxx
Yes! I'm 3 months in and having the same. It was much worse at the start... the cramps have lessened but I'm still really stiff, and my joints are sore by the evening. I'm still doing lots of exercise.. so it's not stopping me from doing anything but it is really annoying! I feel like my joints aged overnight. I've been researching different brands... and might try 'Teva' if I can get hold of it, as have read that it might be better. I'm on 'Wockhardt'. I'm not totally sure about changing though... as I don't have any of the other SE's that sound worse (depression, loss of libido etc...)... so should I just put up with it??? Yoga every day is helping!!!! Let me know how you get on! Jess xxx
Hi 1212
I feel your pain as they say..
Initially i had randoms aches in my knees and thighs and butt along with a back ache (although i think this was self induced) , now i seem to be left with just the pain in the ass. (waiting on someone to say something there..) For me the evenings seem worse but it comes and goes. Its more an annoyance than pain. like someone pressing there finger , enough to know its there..
So far no other effects but i am only 4 weeks in or so.
I hope things improve or you find a way to manage it.
Andrew
Hiya
When I started on Tamoxifen I had awful cramps in my calves and feet. It would come on in the evening then often wake me up in the night, I would have to get out of bed, stretch and walk around to deal with it and would find it hard to get off to sleep again without having the spasms.
Someone advised a bit of salt on my food and a magnesium supplement (I take a 650mg magnesium citrate every day now, get it from Amazon). Haven’t had trouble with cramp for ages now, it is so much better. I have been on the Tamoxifen 2.5 years now so could also be I have adjusted to it? Anyways I would recommend trying what I did, good luck!
