  • HI

Sorry to read your news Disappointed.  I see your post has been answered on the under 50's group and you've joined the secondary groups as well.  Although, your post hasn't been answered (yet) on the secondary breast cancer, I am sure you'll get some support from ladies on there - some of whom were diagnosed years ago and have had their cancer managed for many, many years.

I can imagine just how frightened you are and as was said before, just take one day at a time at the moment, so you don't become overwhelmed.

I hope some of the ladies who are in a similar position to you can help more.

    Kindest wishes to you,

  • Hi , sorry you have had such a rough set of results. It’s a lot to take in isn’t it! Best thing to do is give yourself time to let things sink in, be kind to yourself. If you need to cry then cry! If you want to shout and scream then do it! There are no right and wrong ways of feeling but don’t hold it in! Coming on here and sharing your thoughts and feelings can also help! As can hearing from others who ‘truly’ understand how you feel!

The first thing I would like to say is ‘Don’t Panic’! Yes I know, that’s easy for me to say! But honestly there are many different drugs available to ‘treat’ Breast Cancer! You will hopefully NOT be going away anytime soon, so if that thought was playing on your mind, please try and put it to the back of your thoughts! Yes you will have some form of treatment for the rest of your life but it’s doable, it really is!

I was diagnosed with Primary Breast Cancer in 2013 aged 38! At 40 I was told my Cancer had spread to my Sternum, so it was now Secondary Cancer and therefore Stage 4, treatable but not curable! It was a shock at the time especially as I had been through Chemo and Radiotherapy and was taking Tamoxifen at the time, so I had done everything they had told me to do! I was angry! Really angry!

However I’m still here almost 5years on and I’m doing okay! I have issues from the drugs I take to deal with side effects left over from the chemo and have developed a few other issues along the way But my Cancer remains ‘Stable’, I Hope! Scan is next week Fingers crossed

So Please don’t Panic! Take things a day at a time! Ask as many questions as you need to both on here and of course to your consultant! You will find a whole group of loving and supportive ladies on here. All at different stages of this Crappy disease! But all with one thing in common! Just as they were getting on with their every day life this disease came out of nowhere and bit them on the backside! But believe it or not, you will get through the coming days, you’ll have good days and bad, but you WILL learn to ‘live’ with Cancer and NOT ‘die’ from it!

Sending ((((((((HUGE HUGS)))))) your way! Sal xxxxx

p.s as you will see this reply is at ‘stupid o’clock’! IF you ever find yourself struggling in the early hours! Pop over to a thread named ‘AWAKE‘! There you will find a group of ladies called the Fruit Loops! They along with a Guinea Pig named LP (Lucky Pants) it’s a long story, they laugh, they talk, they listen but above all they welcome everyone and they offer bag loads of support! Wink
    Just remember:

You are NOT alone! Together we WILL get through this! Xxx
