Has anyone seen the latest research on this? I have to say that the risk of dying from Covid-19 is much smaller than the risk of not suppressing oestrogen, and will continue with the letrozole, but it's nonetheless interesting.
Makes for very interesting reading Londonmumof2
Have to keep tabs on this link for updates as and when they get further results
As for men being more at serious risk from Covid, I may start taking oestrogen myself - Can't hurt as I have man boobs already Get out clause (no, I'm only kidding)
Have a cracking Sunday, G n' J
Thanks Londonmumof2, I hadn't seen this particular report, even though I'm reporting on the app and have been doing so for many weeks. I did see some earlier stuff elsewhere though re oestrogen and Covid-19 but it seemed mainly to be concerned with people receiving other types of hormone treatments for different reasons. None of the stuff I've seen, including the research on joinzoe.com, seems to mention our situation ie oestrogen suppression as adjuvant therapy, unless I've missed it! Like you I'm not going to stop taking my AI (anastrozole in my case). Food for thought though and really there should be a question on the app for individuals like us to register that we're taking oestrogen inhibitors. HFxx
I've been doing the app since it was launched, as I'm in London (the clue is in the name!), and know a lot of people who've had it. Our neighbour two doors along had it in March (she works in the NHS so was tested), her house went into quarantine but my next door neighbour who loves to chat sat outside chatting to then for ages around that time and then had a bad cough and chest pains for about 10 days the following week. Three staff at my school have lost close family and a parent has died at the school, the mother of one of my daughters teachers at another local school has died and the headmaster had it before lockdown, the owner of our local fish and chip shop has died, a local well known author Michael Rosen is just out of ICU after 7 weeks, the list goes on.... though the borough is down to diagnosing almost no new cases (3 in the last 10 days) according to the data, I suspect the true figure is more, and the app suggests 0.6% with symptoms in thr borough. I'd love to check for antibodies as I've also had some symptoms in May, and they figure immunity in London from having the virus is about 17%!
