Hello could any one tell me how you felt after your first chemo of ec I have mine today and really worried and anxious. Am new to the sight so not sure what to do on hear .
Hi
It will seem a lot worse in your head than in reality - fear of the unknown and all that.
With EC chances are you may feel a little nauseous but hopefully the tablets they give to you will help, so do take them whether you feel nauseous or not - easier to keep on top of it that way. If after a couple of day the tablets are not helping ask for different (better) ones They only usually hand out the cheaper ones first Ginger Nut biscuits will help believe it or nor
The E part will make your pee pink for around a day, so don't go thinking this is blood.
Do click this link to the May BC Chemo Club, there is a lot of support and info there from others who are also having, or have had chemo.
Good luck for today, do let us know how you got on either here or in the May Chemo discussion.
Take care, G n' J
Hello
I had fec chemotherapy and the first one I was very afraid. The chemo nurses were amazing and it only took about an hour. I was ok and felt nothing unusual during the infusion. Drink plenty of water during and after and dont eat large amounts of food. Little and often. Try to rest and listen to your body. Remember its making you better.

Hi , I am pretty new to the site as well, but you have come to the right place if you need to talk or need advice, it's a brilliant site...
There is a Chemotherapy May thread that you can get alot of advice on here, there is a few
of us that as started our chemo this month or about to start we are putting our side effects or how we are feeling on there, take a look...I had my first Chemo on the 21st of May and I like you was very anxious and worried but it really isn't as bad as I thought and the nurses are fab and you can ask them anything. ...
Good luck today
Thank you for reply ,I have heard a lot of stuff like hair fallen out .
Has any one had the freez cap and has it worked for any one on hear . I also need to give myself daily injections it's all so confusing.
Hi Dab .
Thank you for your reply and I will be joining the group as it's so nice to hear from people who understand how you are feeling .
I have grown up girls and they are amazing but i feel i don't want to tell them to much as they will worry . Saying that my youngest who is 26 has been with me every step of the way she has even sat out side while I have had to go for my lumpectomy surgery . But I can't really say how scared I am of all of this .
Hi
I dunno if they need to know in advance about using the scalp cooling cap ? so it may be a bit too late, no harm in asking though.
It def won't save all your hair, most still lose 40% or so and you have to stay in the unit a lot longer. Cap has to be fitted around 30 mins before chemo and worn for a fair while afterwards as well
The daily injections are probably some form of G-CSF to boost your white cell production while your count will be lowered by the chemotherapy.
They don't give you much time to take it all in do they :-/

Hello
I didnt bother with the cold cap. My hair fell out within 10 days of first fec treatment. I saw other ladies using them and it did appear that they kept some hair although it thinned out.
The injections are ok. Once you have done the first one it's fine after that. Take a good pinch of flesh and do it a quick as you can. I never had any problems doing them or any side effects from them. They do a good job, my white blood cells were on point with each treatment so they did their job for me.
Let me know how you get on

Hi yeah it sounded a but uncommon to have the cap, I'm glad they're arent any side effects to the Injections I reckon I'll have enough of those from chemo Haha, I will post later today and let every know how it went x
Hi
hope your chemo session went ok today. I am trying the cold cap tomorrow, my first chemo session and will post how I get on. Not expecting miracles but will see. Hope you have little side effects but please post your experience as it will help someone here. There are at least 5 ladies who have started chemo this month and lots more that have had chemo and will give you support and advice.
