This may confirm what many of us have been thinking, about how we think, remember, behave, etc.
There is an article, from a trial/study by TAILORx - that .... it seem's to confirm there is a definite and constant decline in cognitive behaviour in patients receiving adjuvant drug therapy, this also seems to increased decline for those receiving both chemotherapy and adjuvant drug therapy.
Basically, its what most of us have already said..... we have 'brain fog' or the likes.
I have said how my poor brain seems to be wanting to take things easy these days and how my office paperwork is building up and up - I will say in Letrozole's defence, I had been like this before I started taking the tablet, however, I am far, far worse now a days. I wasn't sure if it was the letrozole or if it was 'my way' of dealing with what I have gone though - that I am looking at life a little more like.... not giving a sh*t so to speak.... when I really should be!
I do think I can blame this treatment on not remember what I am writing or what I have written - I have to read and re-read to see if my posts make any sense at all, and well, spelling, spelling I find that the smallest and simplest of words can be so hard to spell at times... maybe it is to do with these tablets - so, in reality we don't and shouldn't be so hard on ourselves - it really isn't our fault..... I'm thinking it's the lesser of the two evils.
This is the graph of TAILORx is perceived cognitive impairment, I have also added a link to the site....
Looking forward to reading any thoughts on this, or if anyone can make any more sense out of this then please feel free to update us xx
(Right it's 2:35 am!! I must get to bed.... that is, after feeding the cats and of course a cuppa).
The only problem I have with thisWhatHappened ...I'm not taking any additional drugs( triple neg) and I still get the brain fog!
Oh well....C'est la vie!
I hope you're asleep now....I'm just getting up. A very beautiful sunrise and very warm........

Hi WhatHappened / Lacomtekp
Think any woman who has gone through the menopause suffers from brain fog to some extent. Even without adjuvant hormone therapy the menopause will shut down most hormone production and mess with your head in the same way as Ovarian Suppression does :-/
As you were Triple Neg Lacomtekp you could always try HRT to see if it helps, that is if you can be bothered
There is this page about Cognitive Impairment at Breast Cancer Now you can also check out

Thanks for that link WhatHappened, I am on Anastrozole and definitely relate to the findings. And I think it’s been a gradual ‘decline’ just as the article describes for those on hormone therapy alone, as opposed to those who’d had chemo as well where the decline was more rapid. Very interesting though that both groups ended up at a similar ‘level’. And the gradual decline for us in the hormone therapy only brigade would explain why it isn’t picked up so much as it’s a slower process. It confirms my feeling that I’m in a sort of ‘enhanced’ menopause (not in a good way!) with similar symptoms but much more pronounced. It’s taken a while to recognise as in my early days of Anastrozole I was far more focused on radiotherapy and its effects as well as trying to cope with returning to work.
However I shall keep popping the pills as hopefully they’re keeping the beast at bay! Nice to have my feelings about the treatment explained and validated though, thanks again WhatHappened, and hope you got some sleep in the end! HFxx
