Hi everyone, just finding my way around this community. I start my chemo on Friday, 6 treatments pencilled in all going well with the covid.
Hi
Welcome to this great informative and supportive forum.
I am due to start 8 cycles of chemotherapy on Thursday. You may like to visit BC Chemo May 2020 thread as there are a number of ladies who have started chemo this month and also ladies that have had chemo and give great help and advice. I have found this forum invaluable since joining 10 weeks ago and it has helped me enormously.
Best of luck on Friday, let us know how you get on.

Good luck for Thursday,I hope you have a good journey like I have.

Hey! Just to say “Welcome”...I was diagnosed 2 years ago, chemo and works...I still visit regularly to ask questions, seek advice and just for a chat. I would recommend the ‘awake’ thread....as many of us have trouble nodding off or wake during the night..
Keep us posted on your progress...and we are here for you if and when needed...
Mmm...I decided not to cold cap...I do feel the cold and wasn’t convinced it was for me. I shaved my hair off after my first chemo and lost my hair soon after....I did get a lovely wig which I used now and again. I generally just had a plain jersey cap but to be honest, I didn’t go very far and as it was during the winter months I wore a woolly hat! I now have a mop of curly hair! It was very straight before...to be honest the hardest bit was having no eyelashes but they were the first to grow back! The joy of using mascara again! ....the little things really matter...
Keep in touch....there is a wealth of experience on here....people are kind....and care. Sometimes we just need someone who is just a step removed from your day to day life. Rest assured there is always someone here...
Hi
I am going to try the cold cap on Thursday. I have read both good and bad reviews, so open to anything. Will let you know how it goes.

Hi Audrey,
I am getting both EC and D but sorry I am unsure how many in the 6 sessions I’m getting in each ( just got the information leaflets lol ).
Yes, it’s just the waiting and as I have an infection the Dr calling me on Thursday to see if it clears up for me to start on Friday if not it’s another week to wait.
Re GG post I’m not that bothered of losing my mid length hair but OMG, I don’t want to lose my long eyelashes lol (my pal says I have coo eyelashes) but thank goodness I will be shielding throughout lol there is always a plus side to shielding.
I’ll give you all a giggle I bought 3 wigs online ( I know was a good hinsight thought at the time) so I thought I will get a short wig, a long one and a unicorn coloured one just for the fun of it. Well I tried them on and I have a lovely tefal head and it shows up more lines lol I might get the kitchen scissors out and try to cut a fringe but thank goodness McMillan Nurse going to show me on call on Thursday what wigs she has
take care ladies
