Hi everybody I hope you are all keeping safe.
I got my Letrozole today and I am going to start it tomorrow the big question is what is the best time to take it and how long before the side effects kick in
Thank you
Bx
Some find morning best and some take it st bedtime. What brand do you have? Some seem to have more dose effects than others!
Gosh, with all that's going on hadn't thought to vary the time when I take the L, will now do experimentation to see if changes have any effect on my (mild) side effects.
When do others take them? currently I take 7.30 ish with dinner.

Hi, I take mine in the morning....and I have had Accord mainly but have just been given Teva which seems to have eased my achy feet and ankles....we’ll see!
Good luck...I remember being really apprehensive about taking the first one....over a year now.
Thinking of you all who are starting taking Letrozole now.
I too take mine in the morning, but over time your levels of oestrogen will lower and the effect of the tablet lasts quite a while so I’m not sure that you’ll find much in the way of differences.
I've managed to stick to one brand, Accord, and found that the worst side effects lessen after a few months, but still do get some.
The main thing to take from this is the positivity that this is reducing the risk of spread of your bc, and I was informed that the biggest risk is in the first couple of years.

Hi. I have been on Letrozol for three years, just had my third Mammogram it was clear. I take the tablet at night and have no real symptoms with it only aches and pains in the morning, but I am not as agile as I used to be Cancer takes a lot out of you, but think it is worth taking it as it’s supposed to keep the beast away. Good Luck. Forgit to say I am on Teva brand. Keep safe.
I had my last chemo treatment 2 weeks ago and was given my boxes of tables ( letrozole and the one for your bones can’t remember which one it is) how soon after your chemo did you start to use these?
can’t remember what my oncologist said I was a bit confused as it was a shock to get a phone call instead of seeing her face to face I’ve tried a few time’s to get hold of someone to speak to but I can never get through I think she said 3 weeks but not sure xx
I was told 4 weeks but it is probably worth checking to make sure. It might be different for you. Xx
