I'm having a lumpectomy and my nodes removed.. then chemo and radiotherapy. . at the minute I'm still in the I dont believe this is happening stage.. though I know its going to change very quickly. love to all during this horrific time

  • hi

welcome to the breast group, sorry you've had to come and join us.

at least you recognise the phase, that's good, I got stuck in 'angry' for quite a while.

Have you had a look round some of the discussions?

  • hi Judy,

a friend summed it up unwittingly when I rang her to tell her

omg I don't believe it, you must be joking, oh well you wouldn't joke about this sort of thing, what on earth ...

    all without pausing for breath

I did look things up on Google, mostly sticking to sites like Macmillan but even then it's all pretty broad brush. Most of the oncology nurses and doctors have never had chemo themselves.

Waiting for surgery seemed to take an eternity, do you know when your op is and I guess this wretched coronavirus is going to throw a spanner in some of the plans ?

  • Hi Judy

One day at a time, I think one of the things that has helped me and many others it's knowing that being anxious won't change anything........... It is hard not to be though! Choosing to turn your back on anxiety and focusing on good things in your life And taking good care of yourself daily. Much love to you
