Hi ladies just thought I’d let you know that my operation has been cancelled because of Coronavirus!!! Had to take my surgeons advice on this, who knows when it will be back on the cards! Has anyone else been affected?

I am at the start of journey, just had MRI yesterday with results last Friday from biopsy

I am concerned any plan would be delayed.

Also I am a Health care worker !

  • Hey - so sorry to hear your op has been postponed. You must be upset as I know you will want to get the procedure done ASAP.
My mastectomy - following an unsuccessful lumpectomy in January - was due on 24th but they phoned me to come in yesterday on Friday 13th. I was so relieved to get the op done as I did wonder if there would be cancellations. I am home today but I can certainly say the hospital was a hive of activity in the surgical areas - getting many necessary ops done and over and also obviously preparing new beds in bays normally reserved for post op recovery.
As I said on another thread I do so feel for all our health professionals who are on the frontline to cope with this virus. They do their utmost to protect us.
    All best wishes.

    Love Jojodot

Hi I am also at the start of my journey.

I was DX with Grade 2 invasive carcinoma, 7 mm, left breast on 5th March.

MRI booked for 20th March. Waiting on Receptors. I am post menopausal. Lumpectomy booked for 30 March.

As a health worker do you think it is likely that my op will be shifted? It is booked for what may be the height of the Corona virus outbreak. I am in Central London.

From your vantage point what do ups see coming?

    thanx

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Take care of yourself as you are on the 'front line' and also "in line" for treatment. I hope you get all the care you need asap.
