Hi Shazza2019 welcome to the forum and so sorry to hear about what has happened for you.

I dont know enough about what you are asking but as far as i know there are no guarentees with the cold cap but it can help minimise the level of hair loss if that makes sense.

I feel certain that one of the more knowledgeable folks who have used the cold cap will be along soon with some helpful information for you.

    Best wishes for now.xxx

Hi thank you,, looks like I'm going to be one of the unlucky ones, only had chemo once and kept the cap on the whole time but I've hardly any hair left so looks like the cap didn't work for me, to get my second chemo on Wednesday they prob won't give me the cap again as I've lost that much wig it is a suppose xxx

  • Hiya,

I wore the cold cap for all my 6 treatments. I did lose quite a bit of hair but I kept the majority. Was the cap fitted tight all round? If it was not fitted right, then it may not be effective. Did you have icicles on your hair when you took it off? I think it should have felt uncomfortable.

Maybe try another one time to see how it goes?

    Cwtches,

  • Hi, I used the cold cap twice but unfortunately it didn’t work and I lost my hair. Definitely worth a shot because if you didn’t try it you would always wonder if it would have worked for you, but after the second time it was obvious it wasn’t working for me. It did work quite well for one girl who was having chemo at the same time as me but she was a lot younger than me although I’ve no idea if that makes a difference. Sorry I can’t be more of a help. Good luck with chemo!
