Hi everyone,
I had a lumpectomy and radiation for DCIS 3 years ago, but have been called back after my 3rd mammogram check. Apparently they have found a 'very small area' on one of the images and need to check this with an ultrasound and a possible biopsy. It may not be anything .... but ....
Has anyone experienced a recurrence after 3 years? I am terrified! Is this a common occurrence?
Thank you,
Maxine
At my 3 year mammogram I had results in day and they did US and biopsy on my good right boob (Dcis on left treated with surgery and radiotherapy). I had results 5 days later and biopsy indicated nothing untoward- they thought I had knocked and bruised breast. I had to go back again for a further mammogram just to make sure but whatever they had seen previously was gone. My year 4 mammogram was clear .
Good luck xxx
It’s so stressful isn’t it! I think it was 3 weeks in total before told ok as they had to squeeze me in for repeat mammogram. Fingers crossed you get all clear. Xx
