Any ladies out there needing Accord Brand of Anastrozole?

I've struggled to get hold of it these last 2 months and after visiting 5 pharmacies this weekend, I've been in touch with Accord who say they are short of supply and don't have a date when they will have more stock.  They are currently only supplying Alliance.

Hope this helps.

  • Hi , thanks for that, I've been on nasty tabs/ Anastrozole for over a year now and always get either TEVA or Accord, but last time I was given Crescent for the first time. I hadn't checked inside the bag as I was a bit distracted when I picked it up, but decided I'd give them a go rather than trek back to the pharmacy another day. I checked the ingredients and they seemed to be the same as Accord. And, touch wood, have taken nearly 2 weeks' worth and they don't seem any worse than the others I've had. It'll be interesting to see what I get next month.... HFxx

  • Just an add on, I have found out that Superdrug are part of the Alliance network, so they receive Accord Anastrozole at the moment if anyone else is looking for Accord Brand.

    - Hope Crescent brand has been ok for you.  I am loathe to give any other brand a shot as I was given a different one once and was almost crippled within a day!  I've been fine on Accord and my thinking is 'if it aint broke don't fix it'. Slight smile

    1. Hi I've been given accord but have not been able to get any from chemist! any other suggestions as I'm on my first month of taking this drug and I am worried about side effects! Sun with face
  • Hi The Accord Brand is available now (at one point they were not able to supply any chemists) - my chemist has had it for a little while now, so it might be worth trying another chemist if you definitely want that brand.  However, if you'e not tried them yet, see if they have Teva brand.  I've researched the coatings in both those brands and they are very similar - both of them I'm fine on.

I was given Niche Generics Limited once and definitely NEVER taking those again!  Niche have very different coating ingredients and I felt the side effects within a couple of days.  It might be though, that Niche might be good for someone else and not Accord/Teva, for instance, so it's worth trying the brand you're given, see how you go on and then when you find the one that's best for you, ask your doctor to put the brand on your prescription slip.
I hope you find that you're ok on the tablets!

    Best wishes, Lesley
