My oncologist wants me to switch from Letrazole to Tamoxifen. I am post menopausal. I have been reading some absolute horror stories about tamoxifen. I am considering declining. Has anyone used tamoxifen without the emotional pain that seems to come along with it? Does it make you emotionally low and miserable? Has anyone not suffered pmt on it? Please tell me your stories. I don’t know what to do. Thank you.
Hi , I have been on Tamoxifen since November following my MX, I’m pre menopausal and waiting for the added joys of menopause to arrive. I saw my BC nurse only last week to ask about my feeling low and just miserable and she advised it was part and parcel for most on Tamoxifen. Hearing I wasn’t just becoming a basket case did help slightly but I will discuss it further with my oncologist when I eventually see her, appointment has been cancelled and pushed back to next month, adding to my abandonment feelings. I have been signed up for a Hope course but unfortunately this isn’t until June but see if you can attend anything like this it is run by Macmillan over a 6 week period.
