  • Hi

I'm sorry that your post appears to have been missed and welcome to the Macmillan Community.

If you go to this thread, it's the monthly discussion on chemotherapy.  You can ask those currently undergoing chemo. and also read up what others have written.

I didn't have chemo., but I have seen other ladies who have posted on other posts mention anti-sickness tablets, but I wouldn't know what type!

    Kindest wishes,

    Hi

I’m having chemo at the moment 6xEC

ive had 3 so far yes they do give you anti sickness tablets

the one they gave me for my first lot of chemo didn’t really stop me being sick although I was only sick a few times so I did mention it on my second visit to see the oncologist team before my second session so they gave me a stronger tablet which has stopped me from being sick but hasn’t stopped me from feeling sick

good luck with the chemo hope you sail through it with not many side effects xx

Hi the time scale depends on which chemo your having

I’m having EC chemo and it only takes about 2 hours for it to be given I’m also having what I call “ the bone stuff” as I can’t remember what’s that’s called I have it every 2nd chemo and that only takes an extra 15 minutes on top

the first time I went it took about 3 and a half to 4 hours because they had to go through all the side effects with me again ( standard procedures) but since then I’m in and out in 2 hours

I believe if your going to have the cold cap it’ll be longer but not sure how much longer

you could ask if you can pop into your chemo centre and have a look around and ask loads of questions that’s what I did and they were really happy to give me a look around and answer my questions they are absolutely wonderful xx
