    Hi

Could be the lack of oestrogen kicking in - It can take anything from a few weeks to a couple of months or so for the body to realise it's supply of WD40 has run out :-/

Are you taking Tamoxifen or one of the AI's like Letrozole  and is it worse first thing in the morning but eases slightly once you get moving ?

If this is worrying you give your breast care nurse a ring but it is probably treatment 'baggage' :-/

  • I have been on letrozole for a year and feel like I have aged 30 years! My elbows and feet are particularly sore....manageable but different and often frustrating!

  • Hi , , I have been taking Tamoxifen since November 19 after mastectomy with full node clearance in October then radiotherapy during December, I have a particularly sore achy elbow on the side my treatment was, I’m seeing my BC nurse tomorrow to chat about various issues but might see if this is meds related.
    keep cheerful, hugs xx

  • Hi

I'm on Anastrozole and it would be worth you trying out different brands.  I've been on mine for 2.5 years now.  I was first given Accord brand and got that for a few months and then the pharmacy I go to gave me a different brand.  OMG within a day, my bones ached like crazy.  I'd had an odd joint aching previously - my thumb, my knee that sort of thing - in an out within a day and nothing to worry about.  I luckily had some of my other Accord tablets left and after a week of these other ones, I switched back to Accord - and again within a day all the aching stopped.

I ordered some more tablets and the pharmacy had Accord in stock and again, I was fine.  So I tried a test. One day I took one of the other type and - bang! aching again.  So, I binned those and asked the doctor to write on my prescription slip "Accord Brand Only".

There are certain chemicals in the coatings which can react, so it might be worth trial and error with different brands and see if this helps.

I have problems with my normal pharmacy getting hold of Accord at the moment, so I have built up 2 months supply over the years (by ordering early by a few days each time) so if I have to go somewhere else to get my brand over the course of a couple of weeks it won't affect me.

I asked once from my doctors if they could supply 3 months prescription slips at a time and was told "no, in case you die it's too much of a cost".  Lol, good job I'm quite pragmatic and not a nervous wreck about recurrence....

    Best wishes,
