Hi everyone, needing some support again. I finished all my treatment a year ago - lumpectomy, chemo, rads. Before Christmas I started having a niggly ache in my ribs on lumpectomy side. Went to GP who sent me for X-rays and ultrasound to put my mind at rest! X-ray results came back all clear. Had ultrasound last Wednesday and GP called me on Thursday with the results. One 16mm lesion on liver. Saw my oncologist on Friday who sent me immediately for CT scan. He rang me that night to say CT scan was all clear. Nothing on liver or bones. He now wants to do an MRI to double check. I’m absolutely terrified and feeling like I can’t cope with all this again. I’ve no symptoms and this has come out of nowhere. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar conflicting results. Thanks,

Lots of love xx

  • Hi

I had something on my Liver on a scan, it turned out to be a Haemangioma, which is a birth mark on the liver, they are reasonably common my Consultant told me.  Hope yours is the same, I know a few on here have had the same result as I had.

Thanks for your reply   It’s weird that the ct scan didn’t show anything. Just wish they hadn’t suggested having the mri. Got to wait until next Wednesday,

  • I had a haemangioma on my liver when they did the staging scans after one sentinel was positive. My oncologist said that she'd been told it was that, could see it was that, but wanted me to do an MRI to check it. My node clearance was put on hold for 2 weeks until the results came in, they hadn't the day before when I saw my surgeon, but he said that it was fine and did the surgery anyway:) I think with cancer they take the belt and braces approach, and your onco is probably doing what mine did.
