Out of interest as anyone had a hard lump in their breast told it was cancer from mammogram and scan then biopsy said different. I wondered if it can be something else.
I think that they'd have to be sure to say it was..... more likely they'll not say even if they think it might be, but not 100%. A cancer is more irregular in shape than a cyst. The radiographers who do mammograms in the UK have special training, then have to perform thousands a year to continue the following year. They sometimes miss DCIS or rare sorts without a solid mass on the mammogram, but if they did a biopsy then they saw something. When do you get the results? Did they give an estimate of size, and check your nodes? Waiting for results is the worst part... :(
Yes they thoroughly checked me now waiting on biopsy result which is tomorrow, I though that you were diagnosed after biopsy not told before. The biopsy was intense they must have taken 15 samples in all is that normal I don't know. x
Hi Gina, they took 20 samples from back to front with me too. just so they can get a clear insight as to how widespread any calcification was for me as there were no lumps, just calcification. Very thorough and necessary. Hope they can explain clearly to you, be sure to write down as many doubts and questions you can.
Sam, xx
