Hi I think this is a daft question but I still feel anxious. I had a left mastectomy before chemo and full node clearance. I'm nearly at the end of chemo... last one next week. There was no cancer in my healthy breast at all. My beasts are always quite cysty and lumpy anyway but recently I found 3 small hard lumps as well as the cysts which is really unusual. My macmillan nurse has referred me to get them checked so now I'm really worried!!! Surely it can't be possible to grow a cancer whilst on chemo????? Anyone else had this happen please?? Xxx
Hi
If you were prone to lumps and cysts perhaps these were there before and the chemo as a whole body treatment is now having some effect on them ? Chemo is weird stuff J had a corn on her little toe for years and no off the shelf products could get rid of it but the chemo made it disappear within weeks so it can affect other growths like benign lumps / fibroids etc
Great your Mac nurse has referred you to get some answers - Hope for the best rather than fearing the worst.
Hugs, G n' J
Thanks! That's good to know. I was thinking the same but it's really hard to stop your head from worrying! I'm usually a positive person but at this point in chemo I'm finding it harder to deal with things as they come up. I'll go back to assuming it will all be fine! Thanks for replying xxxxxx
