Don’t worry about the drain. I never felt mine come out. Just think how pleased you will be to be rid of it  and it will be gone!
    Best Wishes to you.

Hi Tanya, so sorry about what you're going through, you're way too young! I bet your children are a huge comfort and will spur you on to recovery xx

I'm 61, with the same cancer as you, but grade 2. Had mastectomy 6th Jan. Like you, they found that my tumour was much bigger than they had thought   -I'll be seeing the oncologist and starting chemo as well, followed by radiation.

Don't worry about the drain removal, I had mine out 2 days after the op as well, truly, no big deal (and I'm speaking as a wimp here!!) My nurse held her finger tightly over where it went in, pulled it out gently and said 'wiggle your fingers and toes as it's coming out' -that actually helped. No pain at all, just a weird feeling that is over in seconds xxx

Best of luck with everything, I'm now almost 3 weeks on after the op and feeling like my old self again, cooking, walking the dog, but still taking it easy and resting -that's the key, listen to your body and sleep as much as you can, lift nothing to start off with- get others to bring you everything - water, tea, whatever you need but stay in bed and get used to being waited on Slight smile

    Good luck xxx

Thank you for replying. I’m glad everyone is saying the drain is easier then I have been thinking! I’ve been given the option of chemo at home so considering that as I’m an hours drive from my hospital. Looks like I’m starting the week of the 17th (half term!). My sons skiing that week with school so asked if I could start after he had gone otherwise he wouldn’t want to go! Really looking forwards to getting back out walking with my dog’s in the fresh air! Starting to get cabin fever already!!

    xx
