Hi everyone sorry to ask please can someone advise if they have suffered pain under the arm and across the back.
I had a wide local excision plus sentinel node clearance in March 2019. Recovered really well apart from thickened breast tissue which caused my boob to swell and be painful.
However now for about three weeks I have had pain underneath my armpit, across my back so much that it wakes me at night. Hurts to breathe and sneeze. Coughing is agony too.
Anti inflammatory, analgesia do not seem to take the pain away completely. Do not want to bother my GP as its probably nothing sinister just so painful.
I start a new job tomorrow and this is not a good start for me as I really need to be fully attentive to learning new skills.
Has anyone else suffered this problem.
Thanks Susan
hi
I had this for a time last year about 9 months post Mastectomy Surgery, my Surgeon recommended Anti Inflammotory gel like Voltarol, I remember feeling annoyed with him thinking he was not taking it seriously but it does help, he said it was due to the nerves and muscles being cut through during Surgery and following Radiotherapy. However, up to you whether you try same Gel but don't hesitate to go to the GP, I think they quite understand if you've had Cancer that you will be worried and more anxious.
Best Wishes.
