I love Christmas, I’ve been to buy some Christmas cards today. Cancer Charity ones and it just got me thinking if you have started your shopping.
This time last year I was about to go in hospital again for node clearance just 3 weeks after my mastectomy so I more or less had everything done by now.
Its my youngest Birthday 3 days before Christmas so I like to be prepared x x
I am ‘almost’ finished! Just one or two more needed for mum, who is a NIGHTMARE to buy for and cards to write! But most of my presents are sitting in my bedroom and I shall wrap them next week!
I HATE shopping in December! Xxxx
LondonLass and Beachwalker19, I've done mine, online, hate shopping! Just waiting for it all to arrive..... Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
I started in January in the sales! As I have done since she was a baby I buy my DD Xmas PJ half price in January for the following Xmas. I now but very few people presents . My great nieces and nephews - I give one family money to cover the 2 birthdays and Christmas and they usually have a family day like Lego , the other family with 3 children under 5 I give Clark’s vouchers for birthdays & Christmas as they don’t need anymore toys and they don’t notice I turn up at their parties with just a card and a cuddle! DD just has an outfit and some high end make up ! Me and hubby dec birthdays so we just buy joking gifts as there is rarely anything we want. I’ve bought small gift for my sister and BIL and a Xmas doggy mug and coaster, in sale months ago for my other sister in law ! Just daughters boyfriend to do and I’ll be told by daughter what to buy
m&s outlet has lots of cheap small gifts ! I bought a family quiz, a tin of dad jokes, a tin of cheesy jokes and a snakes and ladder t-towel. £10 the lot!!!
I also bought a 7ft Xmas tree in M&S for £12 last January . I still have my other 7ft tree that I bought in Argos 20 years ago for £5 in middle of summer. It problem is it’s heavy as it has metal branches and is very sturdy but my hubby broke his back last year and while getting it down from the attic last year wasn’t too bad I wasn’t strong enough to get it back up easily. The new tree is much lighter and flimsy but it will do the job.
I don’t send anyone cards but donate to a charity and wish everyone a merry Xmas on Facebook or my text. I’ve been doing this before it became trendy to reduce our waste !!
Yes, we too start in the January sales! (especially cards and paper!)
not quite as well prepared as we usually are but the family motto is for each of us to pop a ‘wish list’ on line and that gives us all ideas. But the partners help with ideas too.
hubs is a bit of a problem (we both have most of the stuff we want this late in life!) but I’ve got some ideas on my list for him; will have to see what he put on his!

All Done started wrapping ..baking done never been so organised . Think I was worried chemo might stop play , so did the panto thing and said oh no your Not!
I hate shopping ..after working in retail for 35yr I've just got better things to do than be in the Highstreet . I don't mind small market towns or craft fayre for different gifts . Or just things that grab my attention throughout the year .
That said I do love Christmas family around table and sily gift time .Children and grandchildren have been brought up to expect some daft presents so they now enjoy doing the same . It might be a giant gravy boat pesonolised with name and gravy pkt for the one who loves swamping dinner in gravy .Also we do secret Santa but you can't spend more than a £1 have to be very inventive .
mince pies tomorrow
Cards to be done at weekend Christmas then on to no 5 EC next week

Wow you have all been super organised..
LondonLass I hate shopping in December too. My Dad is the Devil in the family to buy for. Will be getting him a gift card lol x x
seaspirit44 That’s great, I love getting the deliveries for Christmas stuff, so much easier than slogging around the shops in December x x
Grogg Great Idea. I did some in the Jan sales. We have an M&S outlet quite nearby I will have to look next yr! x x
moomy I get wrap and tags usually in Jan sales. You get get some great bargains. I will probably find some in my wardrobe I forgot about. I just found the knee boots my hubby bought Me last Christmas, forgot all about them!
Northerner Love that you have started wrapping presents, I have too. I usually buy in October and wrap in November, then have a lovely stress free December x x
We have ‘the kids’ birthdays in November so have to think of that too, we normally try to treat them alike and it’s a tradition that we get each an Advent calendar too; this year it’s a posh candle one from Yankee Candles. They both like candles so it’s very apt.

I think I’ve wrapped all my Daughters Birthday presents, so they are all done and in a bag in the loft (Loft bedroom was eldest daughters room, since she moved out it’s been a bit of a dumping ground) I recently removed about 6 bags of stuff to the charity shop or sold stuff.
I was wrapping presents last night for the girls stockings, teenagers both of them and still love a stocking haha. We also have a Christmas Eve Box, with fluffy Christmas socks, Christmas pj’s, Christmassy film, hot chocolate, got a big Butterkiss movie box from B& M this yr, little treats etc.
Our Panto tickets arrived yesterday so getting excited now lol.
