Hi,
Has anyone else been told they had microcalcifications on their routine Mammograms, but not had them biopsied? I'm interested because I had them and they were never biopsied and it is the area where my tumour was found, therefore they must have turned malignant.
Hi peterawake
have a read of my profile . The disagreement on size was caused by a second area which would have changed size of cancer to 51mm rather than 35mm diff between mammogram or lumpectomy.
no lumps all calcification . The disagreement was on whether there had been change since 2016 mammogram . I was not told in 2016 about any calcification . On my breast assessment day the mammogram was the only way they could see anything . I was told calcification could be classed as non suspicious think it goes on size and quantity . They then keep an eye on it looking for changes to pre cancer then cancer . For me the 2016 area had changed but was not cancer I had second biopsy on that area . I then decided I wasn't waiting for precancerous but would have a masectomy.
Have to say I now spread the word to others to query calcification .
