  • Hi there is the pain in the armpit or breast? It's very common to have a burning sensation where lymph nodes have been removed, and this can continue to a lesser extent for weeks.

I've not heard of a crescent flap operation.  Where is that taken  from? Sometimes diep flap surgery can develop issues in thr early weeks,  so it might be an idea to have the breast nurse take a look at it on Monday.

Can I ask if you are on the Optima trial? A few of us are, and most of us are having chemo!

Wishing you all thr best,  and i hope that the pain starts to improve soon. xxx

    Hey

i had the lumpectomy and full node clearance on 7 Nov, for the first few hours I was fine other than minor discomfort. Luckily I had been last on the theatre list and staying in hospital, as by 0300 I was in tremendous pain, my upper chest was was swollen and tight like a drum, I couldn’t stand up without fainting and being violently sick. I was diagnosed with and internal bleed and taken back to theatre, all is well now.

this is very common especially for breast cancer, i don’t want to get too graphic but apparently they use a scraping technically and this causes multiple bleeds and they don’t always get them all.

i was lucky mine was found before my 2 week check, it would have been agony!

hopefully I’m off home today but I really would push for a second opinion

    Thankyou Ruby

The breast care nurse thinks it is just post op swelling.

My Dr gave antibiotics and it ever so slightly better.

Just had an appoint come through for next wed with oncologist if it doesnt improve i will get it checked out.

    Hope you continue to improvex

    Hi

The pain is a bit everywhere in the lump area and to the side.

Crescent flap is reconstruction tissue taken from under the breast quite a big cut in my case about 8inches.

I think everything is pulling because the breast is swollen.

I have spoken to breast care nurse she thinks its post op swelling

    Not on the optima trial?

Appointment with oncologist wed results of DNA molicule test will determine if i need radio and chemo or just radio.

    Thank youx
