I am struggling with side effects of letrozole (accord) tired and sore feet particularly when i go to bed and when I first get up. Sore elbows and stiffness in fingers...general fatigue probably due to lack of sleep. Some lack of sleep due to sore feet and legs and medication I think....
i have tried a couple of supplements with no improvement....I take painkillers before I go to bed but they seem to be ineffective.
Oncologist was nice, but didn’t offer any solutions...seeing GP in a week or so for an update....but not sure what to say?
Not sure where to turn? Do I just put up with it? Don’t get me wrong I can get on with life, work and exercise but I pay for it afterwards...
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Hi Galligirl I've been on letrozol since end November 2018. It's only in the last month or so I've been having problems. when I wake in the morning I cant close my hand and my fingers feel as if they have doubled in size overnight. Once I've moved them and opened and closed hand a few times it goes and is gone for the rest of the day. I use my right arm/hand a lot for work and I'm getting a painful elbow now. Also my ankles feel so stiff first thing until I'm up and about. I've done yoga for the past couple of years but I. now starting to feel weakness in my arm too. I'm not sure it's all down to the letrozol but what it's doing to my body in taking the oestrogen away. I spoke to my pharmacist re supplements but he will not recommend anything but has advised me to seek GP advice. So that's my next stop. Good luck with your symptoms
Well I have been taking Claritin for several days and I am pleased to report there has definitely been some improvement! I will keep you posted.
Ive started taking Magnesium 3. I was waking 2/3 times a night but im not waking at all now. Some say it can help with pain, but I’ve had no luck there. I have the usual aches, stiff hands, fingers, neck, elbow, back, & fatigue/ tiredness, I could sleep the day away..
