Hi Again,
Just an update and maybe some advice.
Day 2 I woke up to a red race, neck and chest, which faded over the day. I took a Piriton tablet at breakfast, but it only faded the redness slightly.
Day 3 I woke to earache, headache, blurry vision, upset stomach and a strange feeling on my hips, and wobbly legs.
Day 4 (today) I still have the headache, slightly blurry vision, but now lower back pain and wobbly legs. My left leg went as I was coming down the stairs at breakfast, though has not done that since. I've also a tingling in my lower legs and the nail on my right foot is faintly edged black. I'm also going to the toilet more than usual for both things!
I spoke to the hospital pharmacist, who will call again on Monday and see if it's any better, then speak to the oncologists. To be honest, if this is how things go with the first dose of weekly Paclitaxel I'm questioning how things will be if I continue.....
I wore cook pack socks and held cool packs wrapped in a scarf during chemo itself and for the hour after, so that has probably reduced any effect to come on my hands and feet. For those who don't know, the gain from this on top of my completed course of EC is only 1.4% average, so I'm lucky in that respect that I don't have to push myself through it (though not lucky to be here in the first place!) xx
