Radotherapy skin breakdown

Have you tried hyaluronic acid cream? It's what my radiotherapy clinic prescribed but I had some left and I use it whenever I get sore skin and it has healed some very raw places. It comes from the chemist. I don't think you need a prescription but it isn't inexpensive.......It's very thick .

I’m a G cup so had quite a bad reaction under my breast,  my BCN gave me special dressings but I reacted to them so I tried a long panti liner out the sticky party on ti your bra and absorbent side to your skin.  Worked a treat to keep it dry!  BCN laughed (in a nice way).  She also gave me fine cream to clear up any infection.

I had a large area of skin that brokedown on my chest wall following RT and it became infected, the Nurse at my Surgery dressed it every other day and used Flamazine cream and a non adherent dressing, as advised by my GP. The Breast Care Nurse did nothing which is why I resorted to my Surgery. Due to my experience I would visit your GP.

My skin broken down underneath on the crease.  I was given some activon cream and some aquaform along with polymem dressing.  I was given it by RT and could then get it from gp on prescription.  Polymem helps with the healing.  It's a non adhesive dressing. Was amazing stuff.  You keep it on full time and sort of fold into the crease.  I also had to use it on the top when it blistered.  Told to go braless too if possible.

Sounds odd but it heals better when it's kept moist rather than it drying out.  The one bit I didn't use it on I have been left with a scar 

I'm a great believer in sanitary products. They are great inside socks and on shoulders and hips to stop rucksack and walking boots rubbing. D of E with air cadets. I'll try that in the morning.

My hubby used sanitary towels on his shoulders for rucksack carrying too when he used to go hiking!  

my skin healed quite quickly after I dried it out and had creme - it was flamazine!  I found it hard with big boobs to go topless as I had no way of keeping boob up to allow air underneath! I should have asked them for the mould they made that I had to wear for RT.  It was a giant plastic cast of my boobs !!!

To stop ant friction I stopped wearing underwire bras Fira couple of months after RT.  I bought 2 mastectomy bras in sake from Debenhams as they were soft cotton inside. They didn’t have as much support as my under wires but they were kinder to my poorly boob!  There’s no sign of skin damage at all now.

It is only the underneath. I haven't worn wired bras except under certain items for a long time. 13 years ago it was almost impossible to buy pretty non wired bras. Fashions have changed. The wire ends hit exactly where my scars are on both boobs which makes me wonder!

Did they let you bring the mould home? It could make a very original centre piece for a Christmas table.

I was back in underwired bras post surgery.  My scar on top of my boob and without the support it was pulling down!  BCN was fine about as it wasn’t interfering with wound and as a G cup non wired just don’t hold the girls up!

i stick to one style playtex bra which fits really well and I don’t even know I’m wearing underwire - a sign of a good fit. 

Re tampons I’ll tell hubby for lighting our wood burner though they will have to be without applicator as we shouldn’t burn them in our fire .  

Hi it’s two years since I had Radiotheraphy came through it quite well, I did have a few blisters and redness under boob I am 42e so large boobs, the nurse gave me I think it was called MEPILEX to put underneath they are very good you can get them on Amazon, have a word with you breast nurse about them.
