Zometa side effects

Hi, its my first post on here.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. Grade 3 stage 1 and triple negative, no spread to lymph glands.

I've finished my chemo and radiotherapy and until last week thought that was it regards treatment. Then on Friday I was offered Zometa 6 treatments iv over 3 years.

My Dr told me about side effects; fluey, aches, pains etc then I googled (as you do) and saw the more sinister ones.

I've got fibromyalgia and arthritis so am in constant pain I'm also still dealing with numb feet after having Taxol.

If anyone has any experience of Zometa treatment please let me know about any side effects.

Hi I have had 3 Zometa infusions with no side effects at all. Good luck!

Got my last of 6 next month. A bit fluey for a few days, worst on the first one.

You need clearance from your dentist before you have each one.

I have had 3 zometa so far. I have not suffered any side effects at all from it. The dental thing is a worry, and I am extra meticulous about cleaning my teeth, but it helps prevent the cancer coming back so has to be a good thing. Good luck with it.

Hi, thanks for your post. It was the possible jaw and dental problems that concerned me most. Glad you're finding the treatment ok and yes as you say if it prevents the cancer returning it can only be good. Best wishes.
