Sept Chemo chat i hope I'm adding to, still new and finding my way
Hello, hope you all are getting along ok, and could perhaps offer some advise on 2nd Chemo and struggling with nausea please?
So what to eat as I'm even struggling to finish cups of tea ! ..not to be to graphic the constipation from the 1st chemo is making me nervous about not eating well and the side effects of eating so little,as I ended up back at hospital with IBS symptoms and when diagnosed the meds took 3 days to stop the cramps !!
Not really feeling hungry, and everything tastes a bit weird, so finding something to eat that I can actually enjoy and finish..tired I assume due the chemo but also lack of appetite ? Trying to eat a little and often...
Good luck to all of you getting through this, and being so helpful, I hope I can pick somebodies brain and stop feeling so sleepy and useless !!
Had good advice from breast Ca group but it was suggested to pop on here and ask as this is a chemo specific forum, hope all is well with everyone, and you're all managing the various side effects, there seem to be so many and varied, I think I'm lucky with just a few as others seems to have more or rather bigger
hugs to all
thanks,

Good luck and hope the rest of your chemo goes well.
I see you asked about food when you don't fancy anything. I was very sick( physically) for several days each dose and didn't eat because I couldn't. My husband put glucose syrup in a ginger drink for me to sip once I'd stopped vomiting......it was very comforting and helped get my strength back. I didn't really worry about eating tiny meals. I just ate what I could. During chemo things like scrambled eggs or finger foods I could pick at.I think someone else recommended little and often. Meal times aren't really important .....if you actually fancy something, have it...........In the end , after some time, both my appetite and taste returned. I had almost forgotten that problem until I read your post today! Chemo is a difficult time but somehow it is finished one day and things do improve and normalize ( even if the normal changes).
Take care. Love Karen
