I am new here and seeking advice. In February this year I felt a scab on the side of my left nipple as it was itchy. I looked online and noticed I had googled it also in October so I took myself to the doctors. My GP said it looked like eczema and prescribed a steroid cream. After 2 weeks the sore patch had not healed so I was sent to the local breast clinic. I had a clear mammogram and ultrasound. The consultant said it was a nipple fistula(I have no symtons of this) and sent me on my way. 6 weeks later I had my follow up appointment with a different consultant and expressed my concerns of Pagets. He checked me over and said no it wouldnt present on side of nipple. Last week I went back to my GP as nipple is burning sometimes hurts and this small patch never heals...it looks like scar tissuse then gets a thick white flake of skin over it that then sheds off. To me this nipple looks different to my other as it has raised areas...My GP has referred me back to the breast clinic and I assume I will have a biopsy this time as it wasnt done before. My appointment is this coming Monday and I am very worried. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get results of biopsy and will it be punch biopsy? Thank you in advance. I should also add I am a young 56 and my mum died of breast cancer age 56.
Hi Sunday Girl
How did you get on with your results?

Hi
i had to wait 8 weeks for my op as had it at specialist reconstruction hospital and my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon both had to be available for the whole day. It was quite stressful having that long wait but when I had my lymph node biopsy my surgeon suggested removing my nipple which had the cancer in as I had a long wait for mastectomy and she knew I was concerned. The care at The reconstruction hospital was brilliant and result very good so pleased I was offered that. For me I definitely wanted the immediate reconstruction but I know some people prefer to wait and have two ops as it is a long surgery. Can’t think of any other advice sorry. I think for me there weren’t any options as it just needed to go and DIEP flap seemed the right one as had plenty of tummy to use!
My chemo is weekly and I have 12 (4th one today so a third of the way! I’m also having herceptin injections 3 weekly for a year as HER2+
All the best for your decision- it’s amazing how quickly the time between appointments goes but the waiting is painful. Xxx
Hi
Ive been to wondering how you results went too? Xxx
I am a very lucky lady my results have come back clear and I am being referred to a dermatologist to get to the bottom of it.
I almost feel embarrassed to say I am clear when there are people here not so lucky.
Thank you all who supported me online with replies to my questions and I hope and pray for good health for you.
Thank you again xx
