Hi all,

New to the group but currently going out of my mind with worry. I have recently been diagnosed with a potential grade 2 bilateral breast cancer, Er+  HER2-... biopsy confirmed 2 suspicious lymph nodes on my right were positive for cancer on 2nd biopsy, after initial biopsy negative. Having to have double mastectomy, chemo, tamoxifen  and poss rads.

It seems every time I see the consultant theres more bad news, I had swollen neck lymph node for months which still nobody is concerned about, however I had a scan as a precaution and they took biopsy of an area they said didnt seem sinister but was slightly raised, this was supraclavicular area. Surgery scheduled for next friday and post op monday as I'm away on holiday with my family this week, however received a call from breadt care nurse yesterday asking me to come and see the consultant today but I obcs cant as in Spain, I can only assume they have the biopsy result and my supraclavicular shows positive for cancer... I'm worried out of my mind especially since the breast care nurse couldn't tell me what the appointment was about.

  • Hi Mumofboys85, and welcome to the forum.  Firstly hugs to you,  as it sounds like you have been plunged in the deep end:(  This is the worst time, waiting to be told the results of various tests,  and it sounds like the holiday now is going to be difficult until you know what's going on. Could you contact your nurse and ask to see your/a consultant on Monday? Even if it isn't your surgeon it should be possible to speak to someone else. If you contact them today then at least you have something booked so that you know when the results will be  The nurse can't tell you anything over the phone, and it's a shame they didn't remember you were on holiday,  but they are all so busy.  Please let us know how it goes.

Try to enjoy the few days left if possible as is going to be a busy few months ahead! Xxxx

    Thank you,

Forgot to mention above having full axillary clearance with mastectomy.. spoke to breast nurse today she has told me to enjoy my holiday and they were aware I was away so she can only apologise I received a call, she will be speaking to my consultant as shes unaware of what the appointment is about.

I'm just worries its positive for cancer in area above collarbone, is this regional or distant spread?

It's my 34th birthday on Saturday and trying to stay positive but everytime theres bad news xx

  • If it's in the supraclavicular nodes (which I hope it isn't!) then it's stage III, meaning it's regional spread. Happy birthday tomorrow!
