I am a bit confused, in my notes it says I am ER - and PR - . I did not see anything regarding HER reading. As I am both negative am I more likely to need chemo or RT or both. Cannot sleep tonight even although I had my surgery late afternoon.

  • Hi ,

    Hope you are ok.

Im not really sure about this, but thought I’d comment so it will bump you’re post up and hopefully someone may know the answer.

My tumour was ER and PR positive HER negative. I would have thought they would say Triple negative to you if all were negative but that’s just my way of thinking and some Doctors aren’t the best at explaining everything.

If I were you, I’d ring the breast nurse, your care team or clinic whoever you have, my breast nurse was very kind and helpful during my early days before and after surgery.

    Gentle hugs x

    Hi thank you for replying,

i am going to contact my breast nurse soon to ask. This is all so confusing to me and my doctor doesn’t really explain things clearly and always so busy.

    thanking you again x

Hiya ring your breast care nurse soon because if they are the same as mine they will close at 5. They won't mind you ringing, in fact they will be glad you have instead of worrying.

I found talking to my nurse so much easier than my doctor because they explained in plain english rather than medical terms.

    Take Care x

  • Hello ,

I totally agree, phone your BC nurse, unless you phone them they won't know your are worried.  They totally understand how vulnerable everyone feels at this time and as for taking information in and understanding - I am sure they know most of what is said at the time goes straight over our heads.

I think the best thing is to phone your BC nurse, explain how you are feeling, that you did not take in the understanding of your results and can she explain this to you or find out or get the doctor to explain it to you.

Do this sooner than later, instead of letting your mind run you all over the place.

    Best Wishes, x

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
