Good morning ladies, after another painful night, my daughter suggested to try acupuncture, she said it helped her with migraine. I thought about it when all my joints started jumping about. Has anyone had this and what results did you get.
Hi 232pookie,
I've had acupuncture twice many yrs ago for a work related painful shoulder and a hip problem I had after having my eldest. Both times the physios said it doesn't work for everyone, but if it works for you, it works well. It definitely worked for me and I'd thoroughly recommend giving it a go. I'd just make sure with your medical team that they are happy with it first.
Hope it helps.

Good evening pmess , thank you for replying . I am due my 2nd yearly mammogram in the next 2 weeks and a consultation with my oncologist, so I'll ask the question then. I am open to any help I can get because these joint pains are driving me crazy.
Thanx again
think an open mind is a good plan
Ive used acupuncture for various ailments but not BC related
but it did have a positive effect
So no trying is not an option
Go for it

Hi 232pookie,
The joint pains started with my chemo and I've been on Tamoxifen for just over 2 months and my legs and my left foot are quite bad. Not to mention my left shoulder. I'll be switched to Letrazole soon and the Dr told me that can be worse for joint pain, but better for fatigue. He said it may cone down to which side effect I can live with more. I've got 10 yrs of this, but stopping them is not an option for me.
Good lock with the acupuncture if that's what you go for.

Hi there,
I would echo pmess in that my acupuncturist advised it didn’t work for everyone with regard to getting it for pain relief but you would know quickly and it works well when it does work. I had it for two frozen shoulders, which you get a lot of pain with initially and it worked fantastically. Worth a go.
Incidentally, have you tried any supplements? I’ve tried a few - am on tamoxifen- and found 7 Seas joint care with turmeric has made a massive difference. It’s 2 different tablets in pack.
All the best

Patience and faith
Good morning to the ladies who answered my question regarding acupuncture. I bought 7 seas joint care with turmeric a few weeks ago, Boots had an offer of 2 for 3 so I was tempted. I read on the packet that it could take up to 3 months to feel the benefits. Well, I'm not the most patient person, expecting to have a miracle overnight! I shall just have to persevere.
. I googled acupuncturist in my area and there only a couple so I'll suss them out. I was originally on Letrozole which I took for 20 months but because of the side effects I was prescribed Anastrozole which I have been taking for nearly 2 months and now I find the joint pains are more severe. So maybe going down the route of acupuncture is the way forward.
There are so many lovely ladies on this site, thank you all...many hugs

Can I ask why you changed from Letroizole to Anastrozole? I have unbelievable joint pain on Anastrozole and was thinking of changing to Letrozole to see if joint pain subsided.
Though reading this thread perhaps I should go down the fish oil supplement and/or acpuncture routes first
