Just wondering if anyone has had peripheral neuropathy in part of body other than hands and feet. I had Paclitaxel which finished in October 2018. Since February I have suffered pain and numbness in hip, groin and lower back. I saw consultant who said he thought it was due to chemo but I’m still worried as it’s getting more intense.

    Hi

Are you on Letrozole or similar?  I finished chemo in November and have developed foot drop - started to have symtoms in late February and gradually getting worse.  I now have now movement in foot.  I wondered if peripheral neuropathy related but they are busy checking me for secondaries (brain clear, and I am sure spine will be). But I think a SE of Letrozole as symptoms started when I started taking tablets.  Speaking to BCN about a break so this can be ruled out or in.  Wondered if your problem could be related to Letrozole or the like?

    Hi

I’m not on any medication as I’m tnbc but have pn in feet and hands too. They are fine it’s just the hip and groin area that is worse. My consultant didn’t seem concerned but my mind had been working overtime recently.

Hi.  Might be worth going to GP as those pains could be symptomatic of hip degeneration.  They sound similar to what my Mum had before she had a new hip.  Worth checking?

  • Im with  get to the GP and do a bit of pestering

Having a few x rays or scans will show what is happening but most of all it will allay those gremlins of worry

Hope to hear you’ve been and good news is on the cards

    Positive and sustaining hugs

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x

  • Hi , sorry yiu are having this troublesome pain/numbness. Agree with the others, it could be coming from your back, and needs further investigation. GP consult would be a good idea, and as says, keep, pestering. Good luck xx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

Thanks all. Been to the doctors and had blood test and X-ray. All come back clear so feeling very relieved. Still numb but reassured it’s nerve damage.
