Would stopping letrozole cause mood swings? I stopped 3 days ago and I feel downright miserable and my other half can do nowt right he’s irritating the life out of me x
Hi ohmyG
Wow! That's an unusual one.... I would have thought it would be the other way around as the letrozole reduces the 'happy oestrogen' in us... However, I wonder if the letrozole would actually have had much impact on your body in 3 days as I've read many posts from ladies wanting to stop AI's and their oncologist saying that a "3 week break wouldn't be concerning".
Could it be something else? Or could it be just the fact your mind is thinking that you've lost your safety net of protection that these AI's give us? It's incredible the power of the mind and what it does to us. I was in a really stressful job once (I was covering managing a bank branch where the previous 2 managers had suffered mental breakdowns). After 9 months a new manager was appointed and when I was told that I was going back to my previous job - wow! I couldn't believe it how a physical weight suddenly felt as if it was being lifted from my shoulders, I still remember the feeling to this day and it's nearly 20 years ago. I just hadn't realised how stressful a position I had been in for those 9 months and goodness only knows what I would have been like to live with - I was single at the time.
