Timescale of treatment

Good morning,  I had a mastectomy and sentinel node sampling on 18/4. I was told 2 weeks later that 1/2 noders were positive,  but nothing would happen until staging scans were done. This was another two weeks.  I was clear so  now have an appointment to have node clearance which is another 2 weeks away (6 weeks from surgery) and worry about the cancer spreading from the nodes in that time  After that I'll have chemo (heartt scan booked for early June).  Has anyone else been treated on this timescale? According to NICE,  the best chance of survival is when chemo is started within a month of surgery. How soon can it be started after node clearance surgery? I really don't want it,  but want to try and eliminate any small areas that have got through.  The cancer is ER+ (8/8), PR+ (7/8), HER÷ and clear from the chest with 2mm margn at nearest edge, so I'm fairly confident the original has gone,  but am geing lots of aches around that area now!

  • Just received a letter for an MRI on my liver on Friday with contrast to confirm the liver hemangioma in the CT scan, (what the radiologist said it was in their report). I really wish I could just have the treatment for my cancer rather than all these tests....my mastectomy was 32 days ago now and I've another 10 to wait for the surgery. Chemo is best done within 31 days from surgery. Sorry, I think that my team are lovely, but time is  a big factor and it's passing so slowly while I feel my cancer (I'm guessing is at least in the nodes) is spreading.......getting stressed again:(
