Hi all,
just wanted to know if anyone on here has ever found a very faint dent on their breast?
I noticed one on my left breast a little while ago , it really is very very faint & only noticeable when I raise my arm , you’d really miss it if you weren’t looking , but I do check myself regularly, initially I thought mmmh maybe a new strech mark but my breasts don’t really have marks like this & any strech Marks I do have are really not at all visable , however this seems to be ,
theres a history of breast cancer in the family , My mum had lymphoma & my sister was only 42 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer , my other sister had bowel cancer luckilyy sisters are ok now ,
I’m booked or see doctor Tuesday but just wondering if anyone else on here has ever had similar findings
Any feedback is greatly appreciated, x
Hiya,
I noticed a dent in my breast before being dx with breast cancer. I hadn't noticed it normally, it was while I was getting undressed for a bath and I lifted my arms up and caught sight in a mirror. Thought hang on that does not look ok....
This was 2 and a half years ago and I am doing ok now.

Hi Gay ,
Im so sorry to you went through that experience,
What I haven seen is only very faint you really would miss it if you weren’t looking , and there is another tinier dent next to the other one , it’s only more noticeable when I had taken some pics of it as the photo give a better outline and image of it , did you notice any other symptoms ?, like a lump or pain ? Iv not had anything else that’s why I’m so unsure if could be stretch or is actual dent /puckered
Thats great your all ok now , what treatments did you have ?
Thanks ,xx
Hope you're doing ok and not worrying too much.
My whole philosophy in all this is don't worry until you know you have something to worry about because it won't change anything (says me whos worried about results tomorrow lol)
Its good you're getting it checked and fingers crossed all is good, but if it isn't hoping you've caught it early and will be easy to sort.
Keep positive big hugs
Hiya ,
Mine was only noticeable when I put my arm up, the skin kind of dimpled. There was a definite change when I lifted my arm. On my other boob there was no dimpling.
Two years earlier in 2014 I had pain across my chest. I was referred to the breast clinic by the GP. A mammogram was clear and the surgeon said there was nothing to worry about. I now think looking back that this was the start of it. I wish I had known that some types of bc don't show up on a mammogram.
Roll on 2 years to when I had spotted the dimpling. I did not find a lump but the GP did. It turned out that the main type of bc I had was lobular cancer which usually does not show up on a mammogram and does not present as a lump.
I was 43 when I had my dx so I had all the treatments. Mastectomy, node clearance, chemo, radio and now 10 years of hormone tablets.
As the script fan says try not to worry, worrying will not change the outcome. You should see the GP if you notice any changes.
Fingers crossed everything will be ok for you.

Oh ok , so very similar to my own findings then,
That’s sad it brought you hear, & i hope your treatment stays stable and all stays well for you ,
I keep looking at my Breast since last week when it started to bother me that bit more as I’d watched the Lorraine kelly show with dr Jones on it & there was another lady on it saying that was all she found too was the tiniest dimple & no lump & no other symptoms, which spurred me to double check
I’m staying positive until I hear what the doctor says tomorrow, I’m wondering can I demand an ultrasound or Mammogram? I’m unsure of what I’d need to ask for just as double backup & with their being a family history of it ,
my sister BCwas diagnosed very early , Stage 1 grade A ,
she had a tiny tiny little lump on her breast & I’d encouraged her to see the GP ,she was 42 at the time ,
im now 43, The unknown is always the scariest thing
Thanks you for keeping your fingered crossed , although it’s so unfortunate & sad your here on this page I’m thankful for your honesty & feedback ,

Hello ,
Im trying to stay as positive as possible until I find out for sure what it is , but Yes it’s quiet difficult to stay positive when worry just sneaks in & takes over your thought process ,
Iv only got tomorrow to wait to see my GP to get her opinion, & hopefully Iv been stressing about nothing all all,
I hope you get good results tomorrow too will keep fingers crossed for you also , x
You should be offered a referral yo BC. Not sure of time scales but when I was 40 I was seen in 2 weeks as I requested private referral as GP thought it was needless! I had lump in arm pit which was fat pad! I needed peace of mind. My BC picked up 10 years later at routine mammogram
Hiya ,
I think that if you are referred to the breast clinic then it is highly likely you will have a mammogram and us. If not, then personally I would say that for peace of mind, especially considering your family background, you need them, so ask if they are not offered.
The really good news is that bc is treatable these days with a high % survival rate. Even though I hope that this is not the case for you.
Unfortunately the cancer fairy b **** does not care who she strikes. I keep popping back on this site to provide support to anyone who may need it, although I do not post as often these days.
I was 43 when I got my dx. Now 46, I am now doing ok.
Fingers crossed for you, my lovely.

Hi Gay ,
Yes I think you might be right there , if she doesn’t think it’s suspicious & if I don’t ask it may not be offered , and it will just continue to play on my mind ,
waiting will be an nightmare, did you have to wait long for results of Mammogram/UltraSound ?
thank you so much for your advice,
Liz x
