But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

That was a manky night, found it hard to get to sleep, woke a couple of times finding it hard to get back to sleep each time..... there’s a dull ache so I suspect I will lose the tooth. Painkillers taken. But I’m concerned as Alendronic Acid does have an effect on jaw bones, and I’ve been on that for probably 6 or 7 years now....just hope all is ok....at least it’s an upper tooth.

Another phone call with my lovely dentist (I HATE dentistry with a deep, deep passion because I was badly treated as a child) but she was very reassuring. She feels the trauma of the bite which led to part of the outer side of the tooth breaking off, may well have caused deep bruising in the jaw, but would be reluctant to me starting Doxycycline which wouldn't be their antibiotic of choice, either for gum or nerve issues (they'd have two different ones for each of those scenarios) As I can't take Ibuprofen though, she feels if the pain gets worse, to start that anyway.
Even without seeing it, she thinks I might be lucky in that the trauma (though nasty and painful) might not have split the tooth all the way up, in which case maybe a root canal treatment can save it. But if it has to come out, then they will ensure (because of the Alendrotnic Acid I take) that it will be done sensitively and carefully with minimal trauma. Phew! (but not to my insides which quail at the very thought!)
So assessment tomorrow at 10 am.....and that dentist (he's lovely, and is obviously doing tomorrow's emergency list) she says may well decide on antibiotics anyway.

I'll be there with you all the way moomy. I'm not a coward for most things especially if I understand what is happening but dentists terrify me. I go.....because I know I must.....but my treatment has to be broken down into tiny slots because I can't breathe any longer......so I'll be holding LP's paw, in there with you!
I’m just the same! I think in my case it’s a result of an expensive, town centre (therefore ‘must be good’) choice of my mother who by then had no teeth herself, who truly was a butcher! In those days of course they only got paid for ‘doing’ treatments so almost all my teeth got filled. So that’s why I am totally terrified! I too, go regularly though of course they shut with Covid, and look after what remain of my gnashers, filled though they be. I’ve only lost wisdom teeth plus one other.

Good morning.....
moomy not too long to wait now............
I think LP is going to busy this week. What a shame his holiday was so short....
Hope all investigations, tests and treatments go as well as can be expected.
OH have appointments at the end of week but these are only old age related. We are both seeing Ear Nose and Throat but for two different reasons. However, ......and this is a definite advantage over the NHS and one I suspect that saves a lot of money as it reduces missed appointments......we make our own appointments in this country and I have made the two together at the same time on Friday.
Weather still dreadful although some sun forecast for today. Covid has at last closed the bars in Paris again. Long overdue but it still seems okish here if we keep our own distances and take care.
This message may not post. I am still having a lot of difficulties. This was the third attempt to sign in. I cannot keep notifying admin. Surely they recognise that their 'repair' isn't working either!
Take care all. Stay safe. Thinking of you all. As soon as we get the ' all clear' we have to organise the biggest meet up. Virtual friendship is great.....but after all this.......don't we deserve some reality!
Love Karen
Yes, it posted, bet you feel a sense of achievement!
I’m so sorry you’ve had such awful weather, I guess it doesn’t happen that often? How is the roof holding out?
Thankfully my tooth pain isn’t bad now, I suspect my intuition was correct in that it was the trauma that caused most of it. So in less than a half hour I will walk down complete with brolly as, yes, we have the tail of your French storm....I then have to phone their emergency number prior to them phoning me and escorting me into the building when they are ready to see me! Then all belongings have to go into a sealed clean box and I go into the dentist. Then the reverse when I get out of the dentists room. Hope it’s not too bad a tooth and can be saved! it’s a bit temperature sensitive but not hugely so.
