But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I was a very naughty, retaliatory lass and put on Radio 3 loud in the kitchen!
This morning our eldest has set us a challenge, assuming we are the subject of the radio programme ‘Desert Island Discs’ we have to think of 8 pieces of music we’d like to have, plus a luxury item and a book, but included are the Bible and complete works of Shakespeare. Hmmmm, this will take some thought! He’s got too much time on his long walk to work! (He’s been listening to these programmes as podcasts!)
Today, like all other days, is a case of what to do and when! I think some gardening, there are weeds growing out there! I might use the electric weed blaster on the ones I can reach with it, but hand weeding too. The strawberry raised bed needs some attention, and the trellis fruit (thornless blackberry on one, loganberries on the other) needs checking to see they are all tied up well, the sparrows have a great way of pulling the string for nesting material!
Stay safe, all

Lots of washing done today (and all dry and put away too) including the fleeces that we have on sofas, everything smells so fresh as they are back in place all dry.
exercise regime done again, but as yet I haven’t done piano practise, will do while hubs watches the news!
I heard that there was a caravan crash on the M5 from a caravan convoy? WHY are people still being so stupid as to drive to the south west where they will be putting extra people at risk? It’s just going to extend the lockdown, surely?

I got caught out doing my exercise regime late in the day and feeling so hot as a result so today I began even before breakfast which was a healthy bowl of porridge with some of last years loganberries out of the freezer to cool it down and give me my second portion of fruit and veg of the day (first was orange juice taking my tablets)
now making myself hungry again by watching James Martin on Saturday Morning! We don’t normally get to see this as we are usually beginning to run the Bombe machine after I’ve cleaned and oiled! Yes I miss it. But hope after it’s break the Bombe will run again, it might need a bit of help of oiling and engineering though!

Hi moomy
Love your posts. I too was in the garden yesterday but caught the sun (not yet started chemo) and suffered with chills last night despite wearing thick winter pj's , having a duvet over me and a throw at the bottom of the bed was really cold. Slept for 3 hours this afternoon!!! Should of know better.
Keep safe

Hi Lindylou,
Thank you so much, but I type a lot of rubbish really! It’s a sort of a diary charting my journey from scared, just diagnosed, to two years later.I joined the site because of our daughter (who is still going through problems relating to all the treatment she had even though she’s been in remission since 2011) (she was diagnosed with a blood cancer in 2004) and stayed as of course I got I diagnosed in 2018 myself.
Hope you’re feeling better today and tomorrow better still, take it steady, it’s early days for you
