But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Hi George,
she played on Strictly for an on stage band (Harry Connick jr) recently, that might have been where you saw her?

Hahaha, George! There aren’t that many female freelance trombonists! She’s been on BBC TV also for the amateur orchestra challenge a while back, mentoring a trombonist for a solo performance. But that’s what you do as a freelancer! Plus she was head hunted by her Conservatoire (Royal Northern College of Music) to become a professor of trombone there, she’s already doing that at Trinity College of Music!
she plays widely (and her consultants agree it may well be her music which helped save her) and will be off on a short solo tour of USA Universities next year.

Daughter phoned yesterday on her way back from her gig, the Principal Trombonist of ENO (that’s English National Opera) had phoned her to ask her to pass on his regards to her Mum! And had put a cheque in the post!
Had an awful night last night, no idea why, lots of tossing and turning. Listened to Stanley-dog who was obviously having a dream where he yapped and growled! I comforted him and all was quiet again. No doubt a nap will happen sometime today. It’s our last complete day with him, son flies home very late tonight and will collect him tomorrow. Phew! It’s not that he’s hard to care for, it’s the responsibility of someone else’s loved pet!

Thinking of all today and hoping things go well. seaspirit44 how are you doing?
Son is back in the UK after his holiday, his partner is doing some work (a part time job) and then they will drive up and collect Stanley-dog later today, phew!
So just a walk to do.....
And yoga tonight. She runs a few weeks at a time, coated accordingly.

Thanks moomy, having a rest now as appt is at awkward time if 5.15pm with horrendous traffic. It is not a scary apply, just routine follow up and bloods, but I find increasingly every medical appt freaks me out, brings it all back....
Bet you will miss Stanley-dog when he is gone!' Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
